Do you know the rules for your journey?

When entering or leaving Denmark, you need to be aware of what you bring with you in your luggage. Restrictions apply to some items, while other items require special permits.

You can read more about the rules for your journey below.

Travel within the EU

If you enter Denmark from another EU country, you are allowed to import goods for your own personal use without paying excise duties. However, there are limits to the quantities of alcohol and tobacco that you can bring with you.

See the rules for travel within the EU.

Are you travelling with valuables?

Please note that if you enter or leave Denmark carrying an amount equal to EUR 10,000 or more, you must declare the amount to the Danish Customs Agency (Toldstyrelsen).

See the rules for travelling with large amounts of valuables.

Are you travelling with special items?

Very stringent rules apply to some goods if you wish to bring them into Denmark. This includes weapons, fireworks and plants.

See the rules for travelling with special items.
