E-tax (in Danish 'TastSelv') is our online self-service system. E-tax gives you access to seeing and changing your preliminary income assessment and your tax assessment notice and to paying your outstanding tax. Everybody who pays tax in Denmark can use E-tax - even from abroad.

You log on to E-tax using your MitID. Please note that you cannot get MitID until you are 15 years old. Children under 15 can use an E-tax password to log on.

You can choose to receive a text message or an email notification when your tax assessment notice or preliminary income assessment is ready. Read more below under Receive a notification by text or email.

Please note that E-tax is in Danish.

Log on to E-tax

MitID is a common secure login, which you can use to log on to all public Danish websites, your online banking and other private websites.

All Danish citizens over the age of 15 can get a MitID, as can people with a Danish residence permit or non-Danish students in Denmark.

Read more in Danish about MitID.

The E-tax password is an alternative to MitID and you can only use it to log on to E-tax for individuals (TastSelv Borger).

If you have entered your mobile number or your email address in E-tax under 'Ret kontaktoplysninger' (Correct contact information), you receive the password immediately via text message or email. Otherwise, we will send you the password in a letter by regular post within 8-14 days.

Order an E-tax password

If you enter your phone number or email address in E-tax under 'Ret kontaktoplysninger' (Correct contact information), you will get a text or an email notification when your tax assessment notice or preliminary income assessment is ready. When you receive a notification, you log on to E-tax and select Kontakt (Contact).

Log off (top right) and close all browser windows when you have finished using E-tax. Otherwise other persons using the computer may be able to access your information.
