When you update your assessment, you actually manage your tax affairs:

Remember to enter your deduction for transport between home and work in your preliminary income assessment (field 417). Enter the expected number of days you'll be travelling to and from work.

When your income changes

Remember to update your preliminary income assessment when your salary changes or if you start getting benefits, including parental leave, pension and early retirement and cash benefits.

What's new in 2026?

In 2026, a new top-bracket tax and an additional top-bracket tax will be introduced. The former top-backet tax will be known as middle-bracket tax from 2026.

As of 2026, children no longer have to pay labour market contributions. So from 2026, this contribution applies from the calendar year you turn 18.

From 2026, an additional senior employment allowance will be introduced for everybody who works and only has 1 or 2 years left before they reach state pension age.
