How to declare excise duties

You typically declare and pay excise duties once a month. There may be exceptions, which will appear in the information under the specific excise duty.

Almost all types of duties are declared via E-tax for businesses (TastSelv Erhverv) here at skat.dk. When declaring, you must have an overview to hand of what you need to declare. For example, your account of last month’s sales, an inventory count or similar.

Log on to E-tax for businesses
Select 'Punkafgifter' (Excise duties)
Select 'Indberet punktafgift' (Declare excise duties)
Select the excise duty you want to declare from the list
Select 'Indberet' (Declare) if you have excise duties to declare.
Select 'nulindberet' (0 declaration) if you have nothing to declare
If you have selected 'Indberet' (Declare excise duties), you now fill in the fields
Select 'Godkend' (Accept)
You will now see a confirmation screen.

You have now declared your excise duties.

If you have made a mistake and want to correct it the same day before 16:00

Log on to E-tax for businesses
Select “Punktafgifter" (Excise duties)
Select “Indberet punktafgift" (Declare excise duties)
Select the excise duty you need to correct
Select “Ret indberetning" (Correct declaration) in the period you want to correct

You can now correct the declaration.

If you have made a mistake and want to correct it after 16:00 on the declaration day

Log on to E-tax for businesses
Select “Punktafgifter" (Excise duties)
Select “Ret dine tidligere indberetninger" (Correct your previous declarations)

You will now be directed to the post-declaration forms.
